Support greater, diverse transportation networks across California?

Moving money makes money. Economic studies show that when people, of all economic levels within a society have access to other markets, they find ways to become a part of the economy and in so doing, create business opportunities that move wealth and prosperity. Columbia, SA did such a thing in the city of Mediilln. Once a drug center, the city and surrounding area has now become a prosperous, citizen friendly place with a vibrant and growing arts and science culture. They put in rail, tram, escallators and other local and regional transportation mechanisms that allowed citizens to move freely, creating opportunities for trade. While much is negatively stated about the Governor's bullet train, it could be adapted (become not so "bullet") in order to feed other transportation hubs. Living in Lake Elsinore and working in San Diego becomes more feasible as an example.

Building a train that runs from San Diego to Victorville/Barstow would be of tremendous benefit to workers. With the rising cost of fuel, it is imperative we build alternate modes of transportation.
